Christmas at the Morris'.

We had so much fun decorating for our first Christmas together! I may have spent way too much on Christmas decorations this year, but now we'll have them for a long time. Decorating the tree together was the best part. William's family members each get a new ornament every year so William already had 22 ornaments for our tree, and I had collected a few over the years. We love it.

This little guy is my FAVORITE. There is an awesome home decor store in Monroe, LA where William's family lives and it was full of the cutest Christmas decorations. I just couldn't help myself!

Sorry for the bad lighting. I decided to take pictures at night! That was silly.

Cajun Christmas

 Our ward party! So classy.

Shopping for decorations for our first Christmas together.

William really wanted the JB wrapping paper.

 Our first Christmas Tree!

Christmas shopping! This is what everyone is getting from us this year.
Just kidding. Or am I?

Having friends over for our weekly Christmas movie night and making gingerbread houses!

Thanksgiving 2012.

Well, we kicked off our Thanksgiving break with an old fashioned elementary school dance party..

Maybe not so old fashioned. Welcome to Baton Rouge.

After getting all my little crazies on their buses, I practically ran away from the school to freedom (actually to my car where I zoomed out of the neighborhood and into sitting traffic, it was a little anticlimactic). Home free for a week!

William's parents were here for the weekend so we enjoyed some good food and some really good football.

William still had a few days of school so I basically cleaned the house, ran errands, did all the laundry, and twiddled my thumbs. Finally on Tuesday night we headed to Monroe for my first Morris Thanksgiving! I sure missed my family, but loved being with William's family. I seriously lucked out on the in-laws. And we were all together for the first time since our wedding, which was a total whirlwind.

First Thanksgiving activity? Bingo, obviously. It was hilarious. Haley has the best ideas. We had daubers, bingo sheets, the whole shebang. Patti and Christopher even won door prizes!

I volunteered to make homemade rolls and was really proud of how they turned out! Thank you Pioneer Woman. I accidentally made about 100 of them.

Had some serious bonding time with the cat and the chair, watching Hallmark Holiday movies while William was upstairs watching football with his dad.

I am so grateful for all of my blessings. Especially this year when I made the best decision of my life to marry the best man in the world. I am grateful for families and temples and the plan of salvation. I am grateful for our little home in Louisiana and for employment. I am grateful that I know who my Savior is and for everything he's done.

And of course my brother sent me this picture just to rub in that I was missing out! Love them.
